Welcome to the sixth session of my eighteen day “Four Bar Jazz Drum Solo” summit. In this summit, I will be releasing eleven short drum lesson clips where I will teach you an easy-to-understand approach to playing four bar jazz drum solos. Each lesson clip will have a transcription of what I am playing embedded into it so you can easily follow along as I am playing.
In today’s short jazz drum lesson clip, I will teach you a swung eighth note pattern played between your right hand and bass drum that you will use in the next 4 bar drum solo in this series.
In this summit, you will learn six different jazz drum fill concepts and learn how to apply them to five great-sounding four bar jazz drum solos. Join me for each premiere on the dates listed below at 10 a.m. PST. During each premiere, I will be on the chat answering any questions that you may have.
If you haven’t already done so, be sure to SUBSCRIBE to my YouTube channel to receive notifications when each new drum lesson clip will be released.
As we go through each lesson in the summit, I urge you to learn the concepts and apply them to the four bar jazz drum solos. Once you have done so, and are comfortable playing the solos, record yourself performing them and upload them to your YouTube channel.
After you have made your recordings, email me your YouTube links to: firstname.lastname@example.org. I will watch your drum solos then give you a shout out on my channel. (Don’t worry about the video quality. You don’t need any fancy cameras to record yourself. A cell phone will be just fine.)
